For some time now Shopify has had a POS option for retailers.  The big advantage of the Shopify POS is that it is integrated with your website so your website manages your stock levels for both in-store and online sales.  For Click And Collect this is critical because you never want to sell products online and have the customer show up to collect their order only to find it is out of stock.

Whats New With Shopify POS?

Shopify have announced that their POS system is being expanded to include:

• Shopify Tap and Chip Reader.  This contactless card reader will work on multiple devices and will be secure (PCI-Compliant).
• Shopify Returns and Exchanges - This is handy for Click and Collect because if a customer decides when collecting their order that they ordered the wrong size for example, the POS system will process the exchange in store and update the online order, stock etc.Shopify Tipping Service - With the enhanced service you will be able to provide you can nexpect more tips!

• Whats New In Shopify Stock Control

• Soon to be released is multi location stock tracking.  If you have multiple physical stores, Shopify will be able to tracjk the stock at each location ensuring that a product is not just in stock, but also that it is available to be picked up at the location the customer chooses. 
• These features can be very expensive to implement in traditional ecommerce websites because most platforms don't cater for anything outside the site itself.  These new features will make Shopify thge logical choice for many small businesses wanting to offer Click and Collect services.
